Frodo at Amon Hen, by Blossom ~ detail.

This post’s purpose is to let you know about a very fine Frodo website I discovered the other week. It is the creation of fellow Frodo fan, Blossom. Because it is small, I am wondering if other Frodo fans who visit this journal might have missed it. Rather than just posting a link to Blossom's In Dreams, I’m going to make a little presentation of what the site has to offer.

Thanks so much for your wonderful introduction to this site - I am going to enjoy discovering all it has to offer!! I had trouble getting in at first but was able to get to the site last night and immediately fell in love - it's incredible!!

I don't know if Blossom will see this - but she has created something so special and I am going to enjoy it many times in the months ahead.

Blossom will see this, Frolijah Fan. She says she'll drop in periodically to answer comments as long as they keep appearing. You can leave a comment for Blossom in the website, too, if you look at the home page (it says "Welcome" on it). There's a "Sign Guestbook" link. I've tried it and it works.

Yes, it's a lovely site and resource. I've been saving things madly from it, like a jewelry nut let loose in Tiffany's with a blank check.

Hello frolijah fan. I'm so pleased you were able to access the website eventually. I do plan to add more slideshows, gifs etc. to the site, so it's very encouraging to know you mean to drop by again. I am very grateful to Mechtild for introducing her LJ friends to 'In Dreams,' and quite overwhelmed by the response.

Frodo is easy to fall in love with, isn't he? Thank you so much for taking the time to comment.

This is certainly a wonderful presentation of Blossom's website, Mechtild - I know she's delighted with it. I've known about it for some time now (we exchange emails) so I also know that all your praise is so well-deserved. I haven't been able to explore every part of it yet and today and yesterday I haven't been able to access it at all due to the heavy traffic but I know for sure that I will be going there - and back again - many more times!! The screencaps and pics you posted were truly breathtaking in their loveliness.

I did mention to Blossom some time ago that I would post about her site on my own LJ when I'd got my latest chapter of 'Journey' finished. I'd still like to do this just in case anyone has missed your post but I don't think I can do any better than to direct people to your post, if that's ok with you. You give such a detailed description and I'm sure if anyone was unable to access the site at that particular moment they'd be sure to want to try again after reading your post. I'll probably wait for a couple of days to allow the rush of visitors to die down a bit:)

Yes, it's a shame that the hosting service doesn't alot much bandwidth, but as you say, when people have finished looking at it all at once it will be a cinch. I had *no* trouble opening it before I posted.

That's great that you've been already checking it out, Not Alone/Shireling. You missed the site-imploding rush! I had not known Blossom had this site at all, so I suspected other people didn't either, which was why I wanted to present it, to sell it. It would be a shame for fans not to know about it.

Yes, yes! You should do that, Shireling/Not Alone (what would you prefer to be addressed as?). You've got a sizable f-list, and not even a quarter of them are friended to this LJ. That would really spread the word even more. I know some of your f-listers are done with Elijah-as-Frodo, but if only for the music videos that have other Elijah material (I loved "My Heart Will Go On" and "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" to pieces, and those were like EW tributes), they might enjoy it.

If you want to do the rec by linking to my promotional entry, that's fine. The main thing if you rec'ed from your site is that loads more people would know about Blossom's site than they would if it only is rec'd from mine. You have a big readership. If you want a copy of the "teaser" image I made for the top of my post for an image, let me know. Or if you think a teaser made from another image would catch more eyes, you could ask Blossom if you could make one from it, or I could do it. Way to go, Not Alone, however you decide to approach it. Frodo fans unite!

(P.S. I should add that one of the plusses of Blossom's site is that it's solidly gen, making it palatable to every sort of fan. Whether I had purely platonic or more besotted feelings for Frodo, I would be able to enjoy the material just as much.)

Hi Not alone.

Mechtild's review is absolutely fabulous, isn't it? I am indebted to her for all the hard work and effort she put into her recommendation for 'In Dreams.' I'm sure her post, so beautifully written and presented, is better than anything I could ever have produced myself to 'showcase' the website.

It is so generous of you, too, to give the site a mention on your own LJ, with a link to Mechtild's entry ~ that would be wonderful. Thank you again.

Fantastic presentation of a fantastic website! Thanks, Mechtild, for pointing the way to Blossom's wonderful Frodo place (I always SO enjoyed her gifs and pictures back then in the Faculty days) and thank you, Blossom, for creating such a beautiful dedication to our beloved hobbit.

Hello Whiteling,

He is our beloved hobbit, isn't he? And always will be, I think. I'm pleased you were able to get into the website and have a look around ~ it's a labour of love for me. Mechtild excelled herself with her stunning presentation, I think, and I'm touched and delighted with the response from her lovely readers.

Hope you are well. Thanks for your kind comments ~ I'll drop by your LJ again soon and say Hi.

You will see that her birthday gifs, delights though they were, were just *hors d'oeuvres*. Her site has the rest of the feast--and it's still a work-in-progress! I would hate never to have known about it.

what a wonderful review dear! I'm saving Blossom's pages for a quiet evening :)

thanks so much!

I think you'll find something to enjoy there, Cat, even if Blossom does not do painting and drawing (like you do). But in her work she brings out Frodo's beauty and worth, which is what I try to do with my screencaps and manips. However, she adds the additional dimensions of sound (by setting visuals to music and soundtrack clips) and movement (through her animations).

Hello Magpie,

I hope you like what you see when you find time to visit 'In Dreams.' Mechtild has
done such a terrific job with her recommendation ~ she is a 'gem' herself.

By the way, Mechtild kindly sent me a link to your own art website, Magpie. I have
been looking at your beautiful work this evening ~ I especially like your watercolours.
They are so lovely ~ you are very talented. I commend you, too, for making
charitable donations of your work to those very worthy causes that are obviously
close to your heart.

Thank you so much for the lovely recommendation of Blossom's site. I have it bookmarked so I can go through it when I have more time - it looks wonderful.
mechtild at 2008-02-04 14:49 (UTC) (Link)
I think you'll enjoy it, Marigold. I can't think of a fan who wouldn't, even if they didn't love everything (tastes do differ widely, including among Frodo fans). Thanks for commenting!

Thank you for your interest, Marigold. I hope you will enjoy browsing your way
through 'In Dreams' when you have some spare time. Mechtild's gracious
recommendation ~ and the wonderful response from her readers ~ is so encouraging
to me.
