Your site, "In Dreams":
Really, Blossom, it's excellent. It's cozy and simple, but the experience is like browsing a beautiful illuminated manuscript. I like the way the image transitions happen, which "feel" like slowly turning the pages of a book. The action and pace of it encourage a mood of letting things take the time needed to really linger and look and hear and feel the beauty of what's on each page. (I seem to be on a roll....maybe I can work from this for my post?) Everything in your pages is quality stuff, too; there's no clutter, and no junk.

When I get near the time to work on it, I'd like you to write something I can use for it, a little introductory blurb about yourself. It can just be the information, if you'd rather, and I can write it up. But I like to say a little something about artists when I want to tell people about their work. I really don't know much about you. You write thoughtful, gracious comments in this journal, from the perspective of someone who knows and loves both book and films. Before this LJ, I'd "met" you at K-D, on the Faculty thread, where you treated us all to your animated gifs when people had birthdays. You didn't post much otherwise, or not by the time I had started posting there, but I always enjoyed what you wrote. Other than that, I know you live in England.

Making websites:
Yes, we have Geocites in the U.S. But I don't know if it's a different company over there. Thanks so much for the links. If I ever try to make a website, I would LOVE to be able to ask you questions. That is a lovely offer! By the way, is your email address still at btopenworld.com? That's what I've got on file for you.

The look of your site:
What I see is a very simple, pleasing background of a warm brown. Yes, the image and text area is in the center. The type fonts are elegant but easy to read, including the one for the song lyrics in the boxes. The quality of the images and audio looks/sounds very good.

Mechtild, you are so very kind with your comments. I can hardly believe you are talking about my webiste at all ~ you make it sound much better than it really is, I am sure. It seems that you 'see' the website as I intended it to be viewed, so thank you for letting me know how it looks to a visitor.

I did want it to be appealing to the eye ~ originally I had used a plain black background with lighter text, but then realized that the present design works much better. It's
more subtle, and as you say, easy to read. You mention how it is like turning the pages of a book. I do believe you can achieve that actual effect on a website, but as yet that is beyond my limited abilities. The gradual transition between my pages is easy enough to format with html.

Of course I would be happy to write a blurb for your introduction. There's very little to tell really, but I'll do my best.

My e-mail address is still the same one at btopenworld.com.

I'll look forward to hearing from you, and many thanks again for your interest.

~ Blossom

Thanks, Blossom, for confirming the email, and I'm happy the comments spoke to what you had conceived for your presentation. I don't know when I'll actually do this; there's a lot requiring my attention in Real Life right now, but I *definitely* want to.

No promblem, Mechtild. Next week; next month; next year; whenever. I've no doubt I'll still be there, adding bits and pieces. The fact that you would like to link to 'indreams' is very flattering. Thanks again.

~ Blossom.
