Well, if you could get coverage for just the 11 am show, you could buy a ticket for 7.00 and just go to see FotR. I never saw FotR on the big screen either, Celebrian, not until the EE's were shown in Minneapolis before the release of RotK. I had only seen it on video and DVD. When I finally saw it on the big screen (even though it was the EE, not the theatrical), I was floored. I already loved it, but the effect of seeing the scope, the sweep, and the sheer detail I had missed on the small screen really blew me away. The grit on the floor of Bag End, the crumbs on the table, the facial expressions of Saruman and and Gandalf in the flurry of the wizard duel--I just hadn't really appreciated it the way I did when I saw it at its proper viewing size.

Just a thought. Whether I meet you or not, you would be able to experience FotR in the way it was intended to be experienced. If you can do it, you might try to get to that first show. It's a three-hour film, almost. Assuming there are minimal (or no) coming attractions, it should end around 2pm. The Riverview is south of 94, just west of the river, so if you live south of the city, it might make the drive easier.

Otherwise, most fans believe there will be a showing of the three films before the release of The Hobbit, whenever, and if, that happens. I'm actually sort of counting on it!

There's no way it's going to work for me. It would be about a 6-7 hour round trip drive, so even with only seeing one movie I'd be gone for at least an entire day and might more likely need to stay overnight (especially this time of year, I can't assume the driving would be quick and easy).

And, no, I'm not south of the city. I'd be coming on 94 from the northwest.

*hopes too*

It would be lovely to meet you as well as seeing the movies on the big screen. :-)
