Lovely. And another lovely poem from Jan - very "Frodo".

I love the way Sam is delighted by the oliphaunts, as well as terrified. That strikes a chord with me, and I thank Tolkien for it. I agree that the movie dealt with the oliphaunts quite well; here's my own little tribute to the scene, my own effort to draw the book and the film together. It's not very good, but 'twas the best I could do at the time. :)

That is so clever, Scarlet! When did you make it? Is this one of the wallpapers posted at War of the Ring? I remember you saying at TORc that you had wallpapers there. Sometimes you'd link them. I know I have the one of Elijah with "his little shadow".

Yes, the poem *is* "very 'Frodo'".

Thank you, you're very kind! :) I made that wallpaper three years ago, but never posted it at WotR because I didn't think it was good enough. I found it difficult to combine the view of the Oliphaunts with the faces of our heroes.

Here's a link to my old gallery, if you feel like a walk down memory lane. It seems such a long time ago now! Scatha's WotR gallery (There are four pages.)

Oh, that was fun! I hadn't seen any of the Bono ones. I liked "Miracle Drug" a lot. It had a great look--choice of image, colours, text font, all of it. I still love the one you did of Pippin and Gandalf; the colour choice is so warm but subtle. And I still think "Pain" is as powerful as it was when you linked it back on the Frodo thread. I had forgotten how good "Traveller's Sketches" was. I saved it when I saw I hadn't already done so. I may have to use it as my next wallpaper, if that is all right, Scarlet.

Ooh... Wow, it's still an immense thrill to receive positive comments about something I've made. *smooches* Of course I'd be delighted if you use any of them; that's what they're there for. :) I'm bowled over by the response I've had to 'Traveller's Sketches' - it's actually been used a few times as a background for other people's work. :)

Absolutely delighted you like 'Miracle Drug'. I think of the colour as leather, or maybe tobacco; a brown study, perhaps. :D

Leather? You know, it is like leather.

I am not surprised a lot of people used Traveller's Sketch. Alan Lee could take a page out of your wallpaper book. :)
