Oh, thank you, Honey! I had forgot all about that! That shows Frodo already is more willing to step over the barriers of their customary relationship.

Still, it sounds an impulsive, unreflected gesture -- not the same sort of thing as what Tolkien is describing in that scene in Mordor, when Frodo very intentionally takes and presses Sam's hand, when he cannot speak.

*sniffle*

You know, I don't think I noticed that Frodo intitiates all the contacts. At least Sam took Frodo's hand in Rivendell - even if Ian McKellen had to goad Sean to do it! :)
