Whats all that noise? Sounds like an earthquake!! Ah.. Makes me feel right at home like I'm back in my native San Diego.

I actually meant to post both places.. I just didn't manage to do it for some reason.

Mechtild you are such a sweetie!! Thanks for offering to host my piccies to the world. Now I just have to figure out how to do this right without mucking it up. I'll go look at the User Info pages. What exactly should I put for a link? Is there a good place to cut and paste it from that it wouldn't end up sending people to the wrong place or something? Am I asking something that makes sense?

What ever you want to link to, just copy and paste the address from the top tool bar on your monitor which says, "Address."

For instance, if I go to your LJ and open it to the "Angel Light" post (although you haven't called it that in your actual entry),
if I copy the address in the upper tool bar, called, "Address", it says:

All I did was copy and paste that. It copies into your LJ comment or entry as a live link.

The problem is that your entry is friends-locked, which will not help you in posting it at these two places.

Here is the copy-and-pasted address of this page, on which your pics are being presented. If you click it,
you should get this same page.

Anyone can open this one, since most of my journal is not locked.

If you want to host the pic at your own site (which seems sensible), you could unlock that particular post. If you click "Edit Entry"
for that post, you can scroll down to the bottom after the text box, and there will be a selection box called, "? Security."
Scroll through the choices and click "public." It will change the setting for only that entry.

See if that works.

I was thinking that if I sent people to your page there would be more there for them to see! You have all kinds of great stuff.
I will put it on my page if you would rather. Which would be good?

It's fine if you link it here, but don't forget to come by periodically to see if there are any comments.
I have found that many more people look at something, even favourably, than atually comment.
Therefore, it doesn't mean you'll get that many more comments one way or the other.
But I'll bet a lot more people look. People like clicking open visual art;
it's so quick to see whether you like it or not.

The other thing you can do is post the pics right in hobbit_art, as an lj entry there.
Once you have friended the site, you can prepare your LJ entry as usual, but then you can chose
"Post to--" and select hobbit_art.

Here's a link to my "Update Journal" page, which will look just like yours.

Go to the bottom below the box where you enter the text and on the bottom tool bar thing,
it says "Post to", just to the left of "Update Journal."
You can select the other site from the list, and then it will post to their journal,
not to yours. Just remember to follow their instructions on the User Info page.

I've been thinking about it, and I think that posting directly into hobbit_art might be the best way to go for you --
I don't mean writing a post and then giving a link to your journal, but actually posting the pic right there
(behind a cut, of course, per their rules). That way the post would truly be your own and you'd get the comments
and the notifications of reply, yet you wouldn't have to change your own journal from private to public.

Whaddaya think?

If I don't respond, Taerie, it's because I've gone away for the weekend. I'm driving away Sat. a.m.,
until Monday afternoon, to see an old friend of mine who lives across the state from me.

Taerie, it’s easy to have your drawing links on middleearthnews; you have to send an email to middle_earth_news@yahoo.com with the information below.

Change the [ and ] to < and > and replace URL LINK TO YOUR ART with the address page (not friends-locked) of your drawing; then add the ART TITLE and YOUR USER NAME HERE.

[a href="URL LINK TO YOUR ART"] ART TITLE [/a] by [lj user="YOUR USER NAME HERE"]
