Thanks for commenting, Mews! (I hope the preparation for surgery is going well, too.)

No, I haven't done a manip of Bouguereau's young Cupid. That's a beaut; another poster showed me a great Bouguereau for making into an older child-Frodo manip, a youth leading the blind Homer, but I only do manips of grown-up Frodo. The reason I pore energy into making these things is *blush* because I have this besottedness for Frodo (as illustrated by his film image). But it is grown-up Frodo for whom I swoon (although I am pretty darned found of those Ridiculous Thoughts and Flipper screencaps, which I always see as "teen-aged Frodo," although EW is clearly playing someone else).

Thank you for posting the Cupid, though. I had been looking at a Van Dyck "Sebastian" last month in which the martyred saint is portrayed as a boy, with a quite "come hither" look on his face. "You naughty scamp!" I thought affectionately, yet wondering what it reminded me of. I think Bouguereau must have seen that Van Dyck. Although it is not nude, the attitude, pose and mood are very similar.
