Oh Mech,
How wonderful...you are truly getting VERY good at this indeed !!!

The whole Tudor style of dress, in black, really suits him extremely well, and he does look quite the aristocratic Hobbit here...

As a complete by the way, I was also transfixed by the small detail down in the bottom left-hand corner of this painting...did anyone else notice the fantastic little face in the wood carving of the table ?!!

It's little details like this artist's include in some paintings, that make them fascinating...this reminds me of the faces in the mantelpiece that Tenniel drew when he illustrated the Looking-glass side of Alice's parlour...if you ever had the original version of "Alice through the Looking-glass" by Lewis Carroll, illustrated by Tenniel, you would know immediately what I mean...( I can try and find them if you like...)
Anyway, this little face demands to be iconised, immediately !!!

Sharp eye, Wendy! Well, maybe it's a charicature of Bronzino? In Michelangelo's altar piece in the Sistine Chapel, one of the devils is holding up the peeled-off face skin of a man (Hannibal Lecter as the devil?); they say it's a self-portrait of Michelangelo. I believe other artists have snuck little self-portraits into their pictures, too. PJ and Alfred Hitchcock weren't the only artist who liked to do cameos, apparently.

"Well, maybe it's a charicature of Bronzino?"

Blimey, Mech...I pity him if it is !!! What a gargoyle-like face...Anyway, you have intrigued me enough to go and check - I will let you know if I find out anything of interest, like that..

As for your version of Frodo, I really do think that the whole Tudor dress really suits him very well...must be something to do with all that slashing...

Frodo did always suit a little bit of slash...

Let me know if you find out anything about Bronzino's gargoyle. You are a great one for research. :)
