I have not heard the name of Lorie45 at all, so I am sure I was reading a summary of a story of yours. We weren't on each other's f-lists then, so maybe it had been posted on hobbit_smut or Middle-earth News. I didn't read it, but the blurb said it was a serious story, not a comedy.

Thanks for answering about how the manip might or might not repel a slash reader. I read slash but I am writing a het story. I have readers who read both, too. I have a few readers who read and write only slash, except for that story. So I know there is a wide range of tastes. But, lurking in the LJ's of people who really, really love slash, I have got the impression that even the idea of sex between a male and a female -- never mind a fic portraying a relationship -- is abhorrent to some people. I tend to forget that, since I am fond of the pairing. As a maker of manips from art, I suppose I have reason to be content since so much art -- even when painted by painters who were gay -- portrays men and women as lovers.

Simeon Solomon did a couple of paintings that might do for same-sex manips, but his style is so diffuse, it would be difficult to blend in an image that came from a photograph. There are a few other paintings I can think of that portray two males together in poses that could be seen as erotic, who are built like boys or youths, not body-builders.
