The Golden Youth of Frodo: The Flipper Screencaps, Pt. IV

This is the last set of screencaps of the four.

This is merely a string of frames continuing directly from the previous set, showing Sandy's reaction shots as the dolphin swims off. The close-ups alternate with shots of the dolphin, farther and farther out to sea, until it is breeching far off in the distance, the sea lit by the nearly-setting sun.

I like to imagine these as illustrating Willow's Frodo after he finally will have been made whole again....

I've waited FAR too long to 'friend' you, Mechtild! I'm adoring your screencaps very much.

*kicks dial-up but hugs new friend*

Hey, are you the person for whom Illyria wrote the lovely fic with the gift of "Huan" in it? You deserve a mathom (another one!) for having drawn that out of her.

That's me. Isn't that a lovely story? I'm honored to have inspired such an exquisite author to give us all such a gift.

Yes, that was quite a well-written story. I've read a few others of hers that I very well, besides having heard of her work by word of mouth. The first one I actually read was a het one, linked through Ariel's LJ, months and months ago, a genre she said she never normally wrote. It was beautifully done. Let me see if I can find the name of it...

Ah, it was called The Contest. I think she said it was posted at ff.net. Have you ever read it? It's not long, and not serious, but it was a very elegantly written, witty, non-explicit erotic story.

I certainly have! I've been following her amazing stories for quite awhile. We're so lucky to have such a creative fandom.

His eyes look a tad bit red. Too much saltwater. Poor child. May we request any particular scenes for screencapping?

His eyes are red from weeping, I'll have you know, from the suffering he has experienced during his fanfic childhood, silly. But, now, at last, fanfic-Frodo's tears are tears of *joy*! - rather than tears of rage or sorrow.

Oh, all right. It's probably saltwater.

You may suggest scenes, Miss Shelbyshire, but I can't promise to make caps of any of them. It's getting into crunch time for Christmas. And I've got a ton of the the Gandalf fireside scene from FotR already capped. It all needs to be tweaked and trimmed, though, which is awfully time-consuming. (But such fun.)

I think this is the perfect moment to use the following expression to describe your last four entries: Guh!

These pics show how adept Elijah was at an early age at effortlessly showing a very wide range of expressions. Thank you for making such beautiful screencaps. :)

You are welcome, Maewyn! Yes, he was a natural. Once I started watching his old films, because of you all at TORc and over in K-D's Faculty, I started with his youngest ones, being the "in chronological order" sort that I am. He was a wonderfully engaging kid; very cute; and a good little natural actor. It wasn't until seeing him in The War, though, as you know, that I said, "Whoa, baby! Can he ACT!" Funny, but that film was made just one year before this one, Flipper, which made me go, "Whoa, baby! Is he GORGEOUS!"

What a difference a year makes. *blush*

The Ridiculous Thoughts rock video was made the same year as Flipper, I believe, and the screencaps I made from that brought about the same reaction in me as the Flipper shots.... Mixed feelings of awe over his beauty and expressiveness, unseemly desire in the form of fantasies about him in imaginary scenarios (no, not starring me, since I'm too old for the part), and, most of all, the desire to cast him as young tween-aged Frodo, siezed me and still do. Maybe I'll post my Rid. Thoughts caps here soon. I know I sent them off to Hobmom to post at her site a year ago, since I didn't want them to go to waste. But I could post them here, too. We can't have exactly the same viewership. I love the stuff at her site, but it's far more EW than Frodo oriented.
