You are welcome, Aredhelebenesse. I'm so glad you enjoy the LJ with it's Tolkien and Frodo stuff to the fore.

Did I tell you I showed the animated firewords-over-the-Ephel-Duath (or are they still in the Emyn Muil? I am not quite sure where that image is set -- was it actually in the film? -- this coming from someone who's seen them so often -- shees!) to my husband and daughter. They loved it and marvelled at the craftsmanship and imagination that made it.

Oh really, did they? *blushes*

I just had a look into the map and I think you are right, the fireworks are burning over the Ephel Dûath. The picture comes really from the film, but it wasn't complete night there. They had only their special Mordor dusk and partial darkness.
A friend asked me the other day if the Orks tried to get rid of their rests of munition by throwing them into Mount Doom after Sauron's expulsion.

What an idea! Did Mt. Doom still exist to have anything thrown into it? I suppose it would still be there, only with part of the cone missing. Sounds like a sure way to get blown up, though, through explosives and such into lava. :)
